Here are links to sites with more information about Brighid:
- Sanctuary of Brighid = This online sanctuary includes a brief history and description of Brighid.
- Ord Brighideach: A Brigidine Order of Flamekeepers = This is the online home of an organization dedicated to honoring Brighid and tending Her Flame. In ancient times, Brighid's flame was tended at Cille Dara (Cell of the Oak) -- which is now known as Kildare, Ireland -- by 19 women. Each woman took a turn tending the flame from one sundown to the next. On every 20th day, Brighid herself would keep it burning. Tragically, the original flame was extinguished during the reign of Henry VII in the 16th century. However, the children of Brighid have rekindled Her Flame, and carry it close to our hearts today.
- Ord Na Darach Gile: Virtual Shrine = The Virtual Shrine Of The Goddess Brighid is dedicated to all people who are suffering and to their loved ones who are in need of help. It is also a place to celebrate and commemorate significant life passages. It is intended for the use of all People of Faith, here you may offer prayers, give thanks or write petitions within our Messages area.
- Tuatha de Brighid: A Druid Clan = This clan of Druids seeks to find common ground among people of all "non-harmful spiritual loyalties." Brighid is their Matron in this endeavor, and so they are the Tuatha de Brighid ("the people/children of Brighid").
- Mythical Ireland = This page on the Mythical Ireland website has an excellent collection of information on Brighid, including her history, her myths, and even poetry.
Thank you for visiting the Shrine of Brighid. If you have anything to share, let me know!
