Song of the Trees http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//index.php?topic=SongOfTheTrees Song of the Trees, the blog of Treesong en-gb Snapshots http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060619172353348 It's been a little while since I've written a blog entry. So, here are a few brief snapshots from interesting moments in the past few weeks of my life. I Am Born Of The Earth http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060603125037627 The past several days have been great inspiration for me. In addition to other things, I had a rather profound inspirational experience that involved a snippet of text that is becoming key to my upcoming Earth Conscious Revolution: I am born of the Earth and through the power of the Earth I am free. My heart is filled with love for myself, my community, and my world. I share this power and this love with you so that we may live in free cooperation creating the world of our dreams together. Earth Conscious Revolution http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060524160534980 Recent events in my personal life, my community, and my society have reminded me of the fact that we currently live in a world of death, destruction, domination, and desecration. According to my reading of human nature, everyone’s deepest desire is just to be healthy, happy, safe, and free. Yet the world of today is a graveyard of broken lives and shattered dreams. And from what I can tell, it’s going to get worse before it gets better. So, what can we do to create positive change? Reconciliation http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060517163041749 After a meeting with the person who I mentioned in my Betrayal entry, I feel like we're on the path to reconciliation, both personally and professionally. However, our trust is still shaken, and I won't be getting back the shifts that I've lost. Summer Projects http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060516163425795 As Spring flows into Summer, my thoughts are turning to the coming days of ripeness, fullness, and fruition. People around me are tired... but they're tired because they're so active! Southern Illinois is blossoming into action... and I have a few blossoming projects of my own that will come to fruition this summer and fall. Betrayal? http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060515222203232 I recently shared a poem with someone who I thought was one of my best friends. Unfortunately, this triggered some sort of defense mechanism for her -- leading her to betray my trust by sharing this poem with strangers and taking punitive professional action against me. New Beginnings http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=2006042821545828 In honor of the return of Spring, I'm discovering a new lease on life -- newfound energy, newfound inspiration, and newfound hope that I'll be able to apply that energy effectively in pursuit of that inspiration. Right now, the big move at the Co-op is changing a lot for me... it's changing a lot for so many people, really. But once the dust around that has settled a bit, there will be a whole lot going on in other areas of my life too. More to share on that soon... but first, I'm off to bed. V for Vendetta http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060320235351473 I just saw a movie called "V for Vendetta" last weekend. Let me start by saying... WOW! My own approach to revolution is very non-violent in nature. However, I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of an underground, militant, masked, superhero-ish revolutionary. And the themes that it explored are very relevant to current events, and very, VERY interesting... Contrast http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060312091233709 I think that this is the first blog entry I've written in direct response to a discussion going on in the Forums section of this site. :) I almost wrote it out as a reply to the individual posters, but then decided that it needed to be shared in Song of the Trees. So, what theme is so important that I felt inspired to turn it into a blog entry? Well, it's hard to put a finger on what inspires me to write one of these entries, or "Songs" as I call them. But it's always something that I'm passionate about, and something that I feel may have relevance for other people as well. In this case, it has to do with the contrast between my empowering vision for a better society and some of the more mournful and disempowering moments of my blog and my life in general. Chocolate, Valentines, and... Polyamory? http://www.treesong.org/geeklog/public_html//article.php?story=20060211224434853 Valentine's Day is just a couple of days away now. And so, I have a few more thoughts to share on the subjects of chocolate, valentines, and... polyamory? Yes... polyamory! Yaaay! Maybe a bit of anti-fascist rhetoric thrown in for good measure... but mostly polyamory.
