His first course, Introduction to Environmental Ethics, examined several approaches to environmental ethics and how these approaches address contemporary environmental issues. We started with an introduction to Environmentalism, Social Ecology, Deep Ecology, Ecofeminism, and Natural Capitalism. Then, we examined how these approaches address the issues of natural resource management, peak oil, and climate change. Sponsored by the Center for Spiritual Inquiry & Integral Education at Gaia House Interfaith Center.
Environment and the Economy
In 2009, Treesong was a Continuing Education instructor at John A. Logan College. He offered two courses: Environment and Economics and Grounding Meditations. See the course descriptions and flyers below for more information on these courses. Flyer [PDF] This course examines the ways in which your understanding of the environmental movement can create economic opportunities in your personal and professional life. We start with an introduction to “green†movements: Environmentalism, Social Ecology, Deep Ecology, and Ecofeminism. Then, we examine how you can apply the principles and practices of those movements in a way that benefits both the environment and your personal economic situation.
Grounding Meditation
Flyer [PDF] This course offers an introduction to the use of grounding meditations to improve mental clarity and support overall well-being. We start with an overview of what grounding is and how it can benefit you in your personal and professional life. Then, we explore several grounding meditations that empower you to clear you mind, relax your body, deepen your breathing, and discover greater focus and deeper purpose in life.
