Creative Climate Newsletter

I’m pleased to announce that I’m working on a new newsletter!

Creative Climate will be a weekly newsletter about climate fiction and other works of climate creativity.

The free version will include a weekly round-up of stories related to creative projects with climate themes: novels, short stories, films, music, art, and so on. It might also include some creative nonfiction and stories about creative solutions to the climate crisis.

The paid version will include new climate-themed short fiction and poetry. This will initially involve a new short story and poem from me each month. If get enough subscribers, I’ll expand this to include guest contributors.

I’ll be launching the newsletter in January of 2021. In the meantime, I want your input!

What do you think of this newsletter idea? Would you be interested in subscribing to the free or paid version? Would you like to see an emphasis on climate fiction, other types of climate creativity, creative climate solutions, or something else entirely?

If you’re interested in the newsletter, let me know what type of content you’d like to see there.

Why I’m Changing The Way I Use Social Media

I’ve decided to change the way that I use social media.

Effective immediately, I’m making several simple but important changes to what I post on social media, where I post it, and how I allow others to respond to my posts. I’ve decided to write a detailed explanation of these changes both for the sake of announcing them to my social media contacts and for the sake of providing ideas and inspiration for anyone else who may be considering a similar shift.

A Treesong By Any Other Name

Hi! My name is Treesong. If you’re reading this, you probably already know something about me. I’m a father, husband, author, talk radio host, and Real-Life Superhero. I write fiction, non-fiction, and poetry, mostly about the climate.

I also have a “nonstandard” name.

My full legal name is Treesong. It’s a single-word first name with no last name. I had my name legally changed to Treesong in 2002. If you want the short version of the story behind this name, check out my Origin Story page. It’s a Real-Life Superhero origin story, so be prepared for some cheesy framing.

This “nonstandard” name has led to a lot of strange experiences that make for interesting stories. I’m writing this post about my name because I have a new story to tell, but first allow me to share some of the classic name-related tales from the Adventures of Treesong.
