I found you sitting with the trees,
watching waves flow through the grass
as soft brown hair caressed your shoulders.
Your eyes, more gentle than the wind,
turned to me with the warmth of a summer day,
and your soft smile touched me
like a beam of sunlight
streaming through a canopy of leaves
to kiss the forest floor.
I sat on the ground alongside you,
where we watched colorful flowers and swaying branches
dance beneath a turquoise canvas.
The forest sang to us that day,
filling our moments of silence
with nameless shades of green, brown, and yellow.
But the song of the forest faded from my sight
when I looked into your eyes.
Being close to you beneath the clear blue sky
made me feel close to Mother Earth.
And as we sat there in the summer sun,
touched by the grass and the trees whispering in the wind,
I only had eyes for you.
