I’m pleased to announce that I’m organizing a Climate Fiction Group Promo for October 2021! This post contains all of the basic details about the group promo, including what it is and how you can participate as a reader or an author.
What is the Climate Fiction Group Promo?
The Climate Fiction Group Promo is an opportunity for readers to get free ebook copies of books and stories with climate themes. It’s also an opportunity for authors to connect with new readers and build their email lists.
Since this is my first time running a group promo, I’m keeping it open to all types of climate fiction. Climate fiction is very broad in terms of genre elements, themes, tone, etc. This group promo will include it all and let readers decide what’s right for them.
The only restriction is that we won’t allow any climate fiction that promotes climate denial, climate delay, or any hateful or discriminatory content of any sort. No racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc.
How Do Readers Participate?
This group promo makes it easy for readers to get free climate fiction ebooks! All you have to do is pick one or more books from the group promo. then subscribe to the author’s newsletter. You’ll immediately receive your free ebook by download or email (your choice). It’s that simple.
If you like what you read, great! You’re welcome to stay subscribed to the author’s newsletter for updates about new releases, deals, etc. If you don’t like it? No hard feelings. You can unsubscribe anytime. Authors only want readers on our email lists if you actually enjoy our books!
How Do Authors Participate?
We’re running this group promo using StoryOrigin, a site that readers use to get free/sale books and authors use to build their email lists and review teams. You can apply to participate by visiting the group promo’s application page.
The first authors I’m reaching out to are already on StoryOrigin. If you’re not on there yet, it’s pretty easy to set up an account. A basic account is free, but you need to be a paying member ($10 per month) to use all of the features.
I’ve had decent success with StoryOrigin so far. I haven’t gotten any new reviewers yet, but I did almost double the size of my email list after just one group promo. Group promos are my favorite StoryOrigin feature so far, which is why I’m organizing one. It really helps when numerous authors join the same group promo and promote each other’s work together.
If you’re an author and you’re hesitant to participate because of the $10 price tag for a month of StoryOrigin membership, let me know. I’m eager to get as many climate fiction authors involved as I can simply because I want to promote climate fiction and the authors who write it. I write climate fiction because I’m passionate about climate justice and I want to see all climate fiction authors succeed. This group promo is one way to make that happen.
