I’m pleased to announce that my first novel, Change, is now available on hoopla!
hoopla is a website and app that puts your public library at your fingertips. On hoopla, you can borrow and enjoy audiobooks, eBooks, comics, movies, TV, magazines, or music everywhere you have a screen. Your computer, your phone, your car, even your TV. All you need is a library card.
hoopla syncs across all your devices, so you can stream titles immediately or whenever you’re in the mood. Most titles can also be downloaded to your phone or tablet. hoopla offers more content, in more places, than any other digital library platform — and it’s all FREE thanks to your public library!
My local public library, Carbondale Public Library, participates in hoopla. So do thousands of other public libraries in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. There are three ways to find out whether or not your local public library participates in hoopla:
- Ask your local public library or check their website.
- Check on hoopla during the registration process.
- Check this map of libraries that use hoopla.
I’m really excited to see Change on hoopla for two reasons:
- This makes it free and easy for so many readers to borrow a digital copy of Change from their local public library. Borrowing books from public libraries is free to readers and made possible by the wonderful work of public libraries and librarians. I love public libraries and the many helpful services that they provide for readers, authors, local communities, and beyond.
- I receive a royalty payment each time someone borrows Change from hoopla (pay-per-circulation). It’s a rare case where reading a book is both free for the reader and income-generating for the author. Thanks to the power of public libraries, everybody wins!
In celebration of this good news, I have two requests from my readers and supporters:
- If you haven’t read Change yet, now’s your chance! Read Change on hoopla and let me know what you think.
- Whether you’ve read Change or not, be sure to tell your friends! Recommend it to book lovers in your life, share it on social media, and so on.
If you have any questions about Change and hoopla, let me know. In the meantime, thank you for reading!
